Our program prepares women to become knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate professionals and to practice as certified nursing assistants (CNA), geriatric nursing assistants (GNA), certified pharmacy technicians (PhT), and registered construction apprentices. Many of our PhT graduates also acquire their national certifications (CPhT), allowing them to practice anywhere in the country.

Nearly all of our alumnae, however, whether they are CNA/GNA or PhT graduates, choose to work right here in Baltimore. We take pride in our graduates. Today, nearly 3,000 Caroline Center alumnae are contributing their knowledge and skills to the local workforce and giving back in immeasurable ways to their families and their community by practicing excellent patient care and modeling the positive outcomes of change.

Approach

Caroline Center’s educational approach is holistic. We provide 15 weeks of individualized instruction in small classes with intensive skills training that is hands-on. We also provide a host of wrap-around services, supervised clinical work and internships, and most anything else trainees need to be able to learn, grow, thrive, and be successful in the program, their new careers, and their lives.

Guest speakers, employer panels, and small group discussions on topics such as stress reduction, financial management, health and nutrition, and compassionate patient care round out the curriculum. Trainees are able to access counseling and social work services and all of the resources of Caroline Center right on the premises.

All of the services and resources of Caroline Center are available to our graduates – for life. Alumnae regularly come back to Caroline Center for career advancement advice, guidance in applying to college or completing their degree requirements, opportunities for additional professional certifications, to share their experiences with new trainees, or just to be with each other for fun and informal gatherings.

Our alumnae love to cheer on and encourage new trainees, mentor Caroline Center interns in the workplace, and share their stories of personal and professional transformation.

We are proud of our trainees and alumnae. They are amazing women and professionals.
