Dear Friends of Caroline Center,
There is a poem by the poet Mary Oliver that we read to each class of women on their first day at Caroline Center. It is called The Journey, and it describes the choice each woman makes when she sets her feet to the Caroline Center path:
"It was already late
enough and the road full of fallen
branches and stones..” but,
“you strode deeper and deeper
into the world ...
determined to save
the only life you could save."
