Baltimore, MD – Caroline Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael D. Jones to serve as Director of Development effective June 3, 2019.
Before coming to Caroline Center, Michael Jones served for six years as a development professional in Holland, Michigan, where he was responsible for community development initiatives as well as the fundraising for St. Francis De Sales parish. The year prior to joining St. Francis De Sales, Mr. Jones served as development director for St. Francis Xavier parish in Petoskey, Michigan, where he managed various aspects of fundraising and community building for the church and school, including benefit events and annual appeals, major and planned giving programs, marketing, and volunteer management. In his role as consultant, Michael Jones has worked with nonprofit organizations to develop fundraising strategies and perform operational analyses.
Michael Jones is the author of two collections of poetry, Unlikely Trees (2014) and Overtime and the Dance (2017). His poems, “Lady” and “Ambersong” were nominated for the Pushcart Prize in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Mr. Jones has a master’s degree in English language and literature from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and a bachelor’s degree in communications and English from the University of Michigan. His chapbook, “Return of the Orb Weaver,” is forthcoming from Finishing Line Press.
