Academic & Career Advancement

The Academic and Career Advancement Office offers Caroline Center Alumnae various courses and professional services especially designed to prepare working students for college and career advancement. 

 

Genesis Job Fair - Thursday Sept 24 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Representatives from Genesis' three divisions will conduct initial interviews for FT, PT and per diem GNA jobs as well as private duty nursing for both CNAs and GNAs.

EARN & JHH Soaring Program Opportunities Information Session

Caroline Center has partnered with Johns Hopkins Hospital, EARN (Employment Advancement Right Now) and various community college for two new opportunities for you to study to become Patient Care Technicians.  Both programs are competitive and require a high school diploma and a minimum of one year of experience as a CNA or GNA.

College Navigation and Career Advisory Services

One-on-One advising for college and career paths. Assistance in enrollment in College Nursing Courses and/or other AA or Undergraduate Degrees. Call (410 563-1303 X 19 or X37 for an appointment.

 

College Prep One-on-One Tutoring

Personalized one-on-one tutoring is available for college prep reading, writing, and math. These sessions are designed to help the student pass the College Placement Exams (Accuplacer) which may be required for admission to college. For more information, call (410) 563-1303 X19.

 

Pharmacy Technician National Certification Exam Review Class

The PTCE review class includes a panel discussion of the exam content, test-taking strategies and study skills, a math review, and practice exams. This 3 ½ hour class will be offered several times throughout the year.

CCBC Allied Health Information Session

Steve Jurch, Director of CCBC Allied Health, will join Caroline Center in presenting opportunities for career paths in the field of health care including Certified Medicine Aid, Patient Care Tech, Sleep Technologist, Surgical Technologist, IV Training and others.

Mental Health First Aid Certification

Caroline Center is offering a Mental Health First Aid course.  This course is a two evening course for Caroline Center Alumna at the discounted price of $60.00.  Attendance at both sessions is required for certification. Registration is complete only when the $60 fee is paid in cash or check. If paying in cash, money may be dropped off at the Caroline Center during regular business hours.  Checks may be mailed to Caroline Center, 900 Somerset Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.
